Home Remedies Using 3 Natural Home ingredients

By Richard Ealom

Home cures are varied and quite common. Many home remedies are obtainable for your use and trial and creating an exhaustive list could take you weeks. The three remedies offered in this article will introduce you to some routine treatments for routine problems.

(1) Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV)

Apple cider vinegar isn't simply useful as a component in dishes such as marinades and salad dressings, it has long been used as a cure-all for a variety of conditions. This remedy is also something you can produce at home from simple ingredients.

Apple Cider Vinegar Uses:

(1) Reduced Acid Reflux (2) Control of Allergies and their Symptoms (3) Decreased Sinus Infections (4) Improved Energy and reduced tiredness (5) Treatment of sore throats (6) soothing of sunburns and insect bites (7) Application to the hair to make it shiny (8) Dandruff treatments

ACV has lots of healthful ingredients that contribute to its effectiveness. These contain potassium, pectin, malic acid, calcium, and acetic acid. Potassium is helpful in the prevention of hair loss, brittle teeth, and habitual nasal drips. Pectin is used by the body to help normalize high blood pressure. Malic acid is useful as an anti-bacterial and anti-viral. Calcium helps to develop stronger bones and teeth and reduces bone fragility. Acetic acid may slow the assimilation of starches which reduces the body's response to create glucose.

Loads of recipes are to be had online if you wish to make your own ACV. The method isn't complex, and is not too time consuming. But if you desire, you can procure your apple cider vinegar from the majority of grocery stores. Always go for the most untreated and raw options as these have retained as much of their healthful properties as possible.

(2) Hydrogen Peroxide

Hydrogen Peroxide Uses (H2O2):

Hydrogen peroxide is not only beneficial in cleaning and flushing of wounds, it can also be used as a mouthwash, teeth whitener, ear cleanser, and may even be useful in treating the cold.

Hydrogen peroxide is often used as a mouthwash, it cleans the mouth much like it cleans wounds. The added benefit is H2O2's whitening potential. These properties can also assist in steadily whitening your teeth and are less damaging than harsh store bought teeth whitening systems.

For ear cleaning, hydrogen peroxide can be used on a cotton swab for external cleaning or used as a flush with an ear syringe to clean out excess ear wax from the canal. To clean the ears on the outside, just dab a cotton swab into the hydrogen peroxide and then swab the crevices of the ear. It is not recommended to put the cotton swab inside the ear canal, as you can injure your ear drum. For internal cleaning of the canal, use an ear syringe filled with the H2O2 and shoot it into the ear canal, then let it drain out. The H2O2 will melt the built-up ear wax and let it drain out of the canal.

Cleaning your ears with hydrogen peroxide does not only decrease ear wax build-up, it is also a valuable treatment for influenza. Simple applications of two to three drops of H2O2 into the ear canal at several times per day drastically decreases the time deemed necessary to heal from cold and flu symptoms. Each application of the H2O2 kills the cold or flu virus on contact. You may only need to apply it into one of your ears, but if each is infected, you may apply the treatment to both.

(3) Baking Soda

Baking Soda Uses:

Baking soda has lots of uses in baking and cookery, but it is also helpful in treating common conditions and is a very effective cleaning agent - and it doesn't produce those toxic vapors like those store bought cleaners do.

Cleaning Properties of Baking Soda:

Create a paste with baking soda and a little water to use as a cleanser for sinks, bathtubs and showers, stove tops and ovens, and any where else in your home where you need a slight abrasive product to strip off grease and build-up.

Pour baking soda into your drains to freshen and eradicate repugnant odors.

Utilize baking soda as a toothpaste to whiten teeth and strip off plaque build-up.

Baking soda can in addition be used as an effective facial scrub.

Baking Soda Uses For Common Problems

(A) Put a half teaspoon of baking soda into a glass of water and stir to dissolve. Swallow this mixture for a very swift acting and effective treatment for heartburn and indigestion.

(B) Add baking soda into a container of water and mix. Soak a rag with this concoction and apply to the skin to treat small burns, sunburns, and other skin irritations like razor burn, itching, and poison ivy rashes.

(C) Put baking soda on your feet in advance of putting on socks to treat and prevent periodic athlete's foot.

These three home remedies aren't the top three for no reason. The uses offered here in this piece of writing are only a few of the many uses for these three products. But if you are working on building up your cupboard with easy to use home treatments to treat yourself and your relations, these three are the best place to begin. All 3 of these products are cheap, easy to get, and have a plethora of uses. From cleaning of the house to treating conditions, these home remedies will serve you highly.

Home remedies are as wide-ranging as they are ordinary. Loads of home remedies are offered for your use and testing and building an exhaustive listing could take you weeks. The 3 remedies presented in this article has introduced you to some ordinary cures for very ordinary problems. - 32389

Good Health And The Omega3 Omega 6 Ratio.

By Peter Bertonach

You may be well aware of the health benefits of what are known as Omega 3 essential fatty acids. It's been in the news lately and more and more people are understanding the importance of maintaining an adequate intake of the important essential fatty acids known as Omega 3, and most of us are deficient in these. But you may not have heard of Omega 6 fats and may not be aware of the importance of these to your health, and you may not have heard of the Omega 3 Omega 6 ratio.

We all need good fats known as essential fatty acids for good health. Our body cannot manufacture these itself and so relies on getting them through our diet every day. Omega 3 fats are found in fish, and the vast majority of us are deficient in Omega 3 intake.

However Omega 6 fatty acids are generally found in a range of plant-based food sources that we are not deficient in in our diet. You find Omega 6 fats in sunflower oil, sesame oil, peanut oil, corn oil and more, and soy oil is almost totally comprised of Omega 6 fatty acids.

Because many of these vegetable oils are very cheap they are used extensively in processed foods, particularly in margarine, for this reason our intake of Omega 6 fats, though important for our diet in limited amounts, is excessive.

Research has shown that in the past most of us had an Omega 3 Omega 6 ratio that was roughly 1 to 1. This meant that we ate about the same amount of Omega 3 as Omega 6 fats. But because we now eat much more processed foods and vegetable-based oils estimates are that the Omega 6 Omega 3 ratio has increased to somewhere around, depending on the estimate, from 10 to 1 to 30 to 1. We are now eating much more Omega 6 fats than we have ever done in the past.

Whilst 6 is important to our health increasing the ratio between the 2 as we have done over the last hundred or so years is not. There are a range of health implications from eating too much Omega 6 fatty acids and too little Omega 3. In particular it is thought that we are exposing ourselves to an increased range of lifestyle diseases including cancer, coronary artery disease and various inflammatory related diseases such as arthritis.

And there is also an issue with our meat. Traditionally our farm animals have been raised on grass and this produces meat higher in Omega3. However farming practices have changed over the last hundred years and most of our meat now comes from grain fed animals which produces meat lower in Omega 3 and higher in Omega 6.

Whilst both Omega 3 and Omega 6 fats are important to our health most of us are deficient in our intake of Omega 3 and have an Omega 3 Omega 6 ratio that is way too high, and we need to reduce our intake of Omega 6 fats. This can be done by reducing the amounts of processed foods in our diets and by changing our cooking oils from vegetable oils to good oils such as olive oil. And we all need to be increasing our intake of Omega 3 fatty acids with daily fish oil supplements.

However, although all of us should be taking daily fish oil supplements, you need to be aware that there are wide variations in the amount of the Omega 3 fatty acids found in the different brands of fish oil supplements, and you need to know how to make an informed choice when choosing your fish oil supplements.

Is There A Warp Speed Method To Lose Fat?

By Richard Bernard

What is the best way to lose pounds? Countless people today want the solution to this to help them take off the pounds as rapidly as achievable.

You hear stories each day about individuals who have dropped thirty and more pounds almost overnight, but is it in fact possible? Essentially, it is feasible to take off weight rapidly, but it is also imperative to stay healthy at the same time.

There are numerous speedy methods that, pure and simple, are hurtful to your health. In some instances, they have even proved fatal.

The reality is, there are no ways to drop weight overnight that will not hurt your health. One of the quickest ways to dop weight is diet tablets, but these most certainly are not safe. A lot of of them have caused extremely damaging long term effects, and in a number of cases fatalities. For that reason, you certainly want to shun weight loss tablets.

Of course, anorexia and bulimia are problems that are very common among the speedy weight loss gang. Again, losing lbs at the cost of your health is simply not worth it.

It is not surprising that not consuming food for prolonged time periods can have extremely harmful side effects, so you absolutely want to stay away from malnourishing diets, which are broadly used in our day. What's more, strive to pass up diets that rely on one specific kind of food.

I do not care how good a food might be, you require more than cabbage soup to stay well (I am obviously talking about the cabbage soup diet, but there are a number of similar ones you want to steer clear of). I know from personal experience that very limiting diets are just not sustainable.

One in particular I tried is the alkaline diet, and whilst this might be a healthy way of eating, it simply is not one that you can live with, because it eliminates so many of your much beloved foods. At least, this was my experience. I found myself binging just about every other day it seemed.

Do'nt misunderstand me, I am a huge believer of vegan diets as the quickest way to take off the pounds (and the healthiest), but the Alkaline Diet is one I recommend you keep away from, even though it is promoted by some big names whom I won't reveal.

Yet another of the fast ways to take off weight is surgery. Once again, though this might work to help you attain the immediate results you want, the long term side effects are very hazardous to your health.

The bottom line is that you should seek healthy methods, and many of today's strategies simply are very precarious if not downright suicidal to your health. These are only a few you need to stay away from, and make sure to never do any of the above no matter what.

You in all probability do not want to hear this, as it tends to become repetitive, but you just can not get thinner in a healthy way without exercising. Aerobic training is undeniably the best and lifting weights tends to help you increase muscle and lose fat.

I advise you to try some kind of dynamic aerobic exercise as a minimum daily. It does not have to be for hours, but you'd be amazed at what even 15 to 20 minutes can do to help you reach your goals.

naturally, the more rigorous the workout, the better, however having said that, even making it a point to walk daily can really work wonders. Exercise and a sound diet are the best way to take off weight, and do not get lured by anyone who tells you otherwise. - 32389

Does Taking Fish Oil Tablets Help Prevent Bowel Cancer?

By Peter Bertonach

There are 2 important essential fatty acids that we need in our diet called DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid), and these are found in fish oil and in fish oil tablets. These are called omega 3 essential fatty acids and over the last 4 decades there are many studies which have established the health benefits of increasing our intake of omega 3 fatty acids. These benefits include heart health benefits, prostate cancer prevention and breast cancer prevention, and now extend to helping to prevent bowel cancer.

A Scottish study examines the benefits of increasing the intake of omega 3 fatty acids. The results of the study found that by increasing your intake of DHA and EPA you can reduce your risk of colorectal cancer by anything up to around 40 percent. And the study also noted that this result will not be achieved if you increase your intake of ALA (alpha-linolenic acid), a plant-based omega 3 fatty acid.

It was clearly established that people who ate more fish had a reduced risk of colon cancer and that people who ate less fish had a higher risk of colon cancer.

A Dutch study also established, by comparing the results of-- other studies, that one meal of fish every week reduced your risk of bowel cancer by an estimated 4 percent. Therefore if you eat 2 meals of fish each week your risk of bowel cancer reduces by around 8 percent.

We eat too little fish in the US, and in particular we eat too little fish to achieve these results in helping to prevent colon cancer.

Of course it's not true to say that eating more fish will prevent colorectal cancer, but it is probably fair to state that increasing your intake of omega 3 essential fatty acids found in fish oil can be an important part of an overall diet to prevent cancer, and can attract a range of other health benefits, including reducing the risk of death from heart related problems, substantially.

So how do you go about increasing your intake of fish oil containing Omega 3 fatty acids? Fish is getting more expensive by the day and it is also known that fish is generally contaminated with heavy metals, PCBs and pesticides and the FDA tells us not to eat too much fish for this reason. So getting more fish in our diet is risky and expensive.

However there are excellent fishoil tablets available which overcome these problems. Fish oil tablets are small capsules containing omega 3 fatty acids and the best fish oil tablets are completely contamination free and are much more cost-effective to be taken daily than increasing your intake of fish.

However not all all fish oil supplements are as good as others, and you need to be careful comparing one with another because there are wide variations in the amounts of the active ingredients found in the different brands. You cannot directly compare the price of fish oil tablets alone.

So it would seem that the evidence is getting stronger of the health benefits of increasing your intake of Omega3 fats, including in helping to prevent bowel cancer. Clearly all of us should be eating more fish or, more conveniently and more cheaply, taking daily omega 3 supplements by way of fish oil tablets.

I have known this for some time and take fish oil tablets every day. To find out which ones visit my website. - 32389

Controlling High Blood Pressure With Chelation Therapy

By Anju Mathur, MD

High blood pressure, also known as hypertension, is a condition in which the force of the blood pumped by the heart is consistently elevated due to the resistance of the arteries against the blood flow. Blood pressure is measured as the pressure of the heart beat (systolic) over the pressure of the heart at rest (diastolic). Hypertension is defined as a blood pressure of--0/90 or higher. Normal, or healthy, blood pressure for average adults should be 120/80 or less.

If blood pressure continues to be high it can cause all kinds of havoc in other systems of the body, such as kidneys and other delicate tissues. It can also cause heart attack or stroke. The heart can be enlarged because it is working harder to pump blood. Yet 30% of people who have high blood pressure don't even know they have it, because there are no symptoms. .

Calcium, cholesterol and various minerals can form deposits inside blood vessels, making them smaller and sometimes completely stopped up. This process, which increases blood pressure because it slows blood flow, has several names - hardening of the arteries, arterial plaque build up, arteriosclerosis or atherosclerosis.

Physicians tend to prescribe medications to lower blood pressure. But these drugs, in addition to having undesirable side effects, do not handle the cause of the high blood pressure. If the medications do not lower the blood pressure sufficiently, more drugs are prescribed, with more side effects

There is another solution, without side effects, which can clean out arteries and thereby handle the cause of high blood pressure, thereby lowering it. It is called chelation therapy. A chemical agent is put into the bloodstream using an IV drip. The agent used to handle heart problems and blood pressure is EDTA (ethylene diamine tetra-acetate acid). Originally this process was used to remove heavy metals from the body, and it is still effective for that.

There are two theories for why chelation therapy works. One is that EDTA binds to free radicals, highly active molecular fragments that can damage tissue and perhaps the lining of the blood vessels. The other is that it binds to calcium and other minerals in the bloodstream, resulting in a series of actions that improves cellular and vascular health.

As an added benefit, EDTA chelation has blood-thinning effects and discourages the formation of potentially dangerous blood clots that can cause a heart attack or stroke.

Increasing blood circulation by chelation therapy is definitely the safest way of controlling high blood pressure. It is a tested and effective cure. - 32389

An Introduction To Mitral Valve Repair

By Lawrence Reaves

The mitral valve (MV) is one of your heart's four valves that help to ensure that blood flows in the proper direction and that there is no regurgitation. It is located between the left atrium and left ventricle. Comprised of flaps of tissue called leaflets, the MV opens as the left atrium contracts, thereby allowing blood to flow into the left ventricle. Then, it closes in order to prevent the blood from flowing back into the atrium. If the MV fails to work properly, it can impair your heart's ability to pump blood throughout your body.

This article will describe the ways in which the mitral valve can malfunction. We'll explain the procedure used to correct the problem as well as its advantages over other forms of treatment.

Ways In Which The Mitral Valve Can Malfunction

Two problems can occur with the mitral valve. First, it can fail to close properly after blood has moved from the left atrium into the left ventricle. If this happens, blood can flow back into the atrium when the ventricle contracts. As a result, you may feel winded or have difficulty catching your breath.

The second problem is that the MV might fail to open properly. That prevents blood from flowing from the atrium into the ventricle. This condition is usually caused by rheumatic fever and is far less common.

Repairing The Problem

There are two strategies to correct a malfunctioning MV: replacement of the valve or surgically repairing it. Replacements can be made from metal or tissue. However, because introducing any foreign object into the body carries risks, many doctors recommend repairing the valve.

Long ago, mitral valve repair required the surgeon to cut through the patient's breastbone. Today, the procedure is far less invasive. The surgeon makes a small incision (between 2 and 4 inches) and uses robotic assistance to guide his or her approach.

Advantages Of The Procedure

There are several advantages to repairing the MV rather than replacing it. The mortality rate during replacement surgery can climb up to 8%. By contrast, the mortality rate associated with mitral valve repair typically ranges between 1-2%. There's also less blood loss and a lower chance of infection during - and immediately following - the operation. The recovery time is shorter and patients are usually able to return home more quickly than would be the case if they received a replacement.

Another advantage: patients who undergo mitral valve repair do not need to take blood thinners. Those who receive a replacement valve are forced to take blood thinners for the remainder of their lives. Otherwise, they risk developing blood clots.

While minimally invasive techniques have significantly reduced the risks involved with mitral valve repair, not everyone is a good candidate for the operation. Be sure to discuss your options with your physician. - 32389
